Recommended Reading

The word Yoga describes an entire philosophy and way of life, much more than just jumping around on a mat once or twice a week, although this is a great place to start. In order to delve deeper into the practise and move further along within your own journey, here is a list of books that I have found extremely beneficial & helpful along my own personal journey as a Yoga teacher and holistic bodyworker. Some of the books have a Yoga foundation, others one of Traditional Chinese Medicine, both philosophies of which I encorporate into my teaching & practise.

If you are new to Yoga or Yoga Philosophy and want to start with some foundational text, I would highly recommend Heart Of Yoga by T.K.V Desikachar which is a simply stated and beautiful read. Those new to Yoga altogether might also appreciate The Yoga Bible by Christina Brown for a very nice little reference compendium outlining and explaining many of the major āsana (postures) & practises.
